Today bitumen is a very popular construction material used in production of asphalt, paints and lacquers, waterproofing works, etc.
During construction, bitumen is pumped via pipes or raised to surface by special pumps. The properties of the material pose certain requirements which should be considered when choosing the right pump.
In particular, pumping rate must be limited to 25% of maximum catalogue value. Also, provisions should be made to increase clearance, application of bronze bushings and additional lubrication. Steel parts may be required by bitumen viscosity.
GlobeCore has developed the СН-1 pumping assembly for bituminous materials. It consists of a gear pump, a frame, a motor, a coupling and a protective cover.
The positive displacement gear pump is equipped with a heating jacket for pumping of high viscous liquids.
